About 50 members of Okinawan Club got together for a Brunch at South Point Casino’s Garden Buffet and had a great time eating and Yuntaku chatting this past weekend!
Special thanks to our AANHPI officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Office of Community Engagement team for joining us!
The officers are of Japanese, Filipino and Native Hawaiian descent from Hawaii! 🙆🏻♂️🥰☀️😊🇺🇸🎉

Our 1st Young Okinawan of Las Vegas (YOLV) Picnic is coming up on March 9, 2024 Saturday!
This would be a social outing and team building for any students, youth, and those members 18 to 40 (ish). Family and kids friendly picnic. Parents, family members and any club members are also welcome. Please bring your own chair and a dish to share.

2023 New Year's Party was success! February 18, 2023
2023 New Year’s Party was successful with 140 participants! Thank you to everyone for the support, including directors, officers, volunteers, performers, donors, and everyone who participated in the New Year's party, we were able to finish the event without any major issues. Thank you very much. Thank you for all your hard work and support in preparing and helping us with the New Year’s party celebration. Our Consulate General of Japan Las Vegas, Kathleen Blakely started off with a new year’s greetings wishing everyone for a great year. We also had Julia Coleman from United States Senator Jacky Rosen’s Office. Julia spent time in Tokyo growing up with her mother being Japanese. Gerri Schroder from Congresswoman Susie Lee’s office also joined us to celebrate the new year’s with us. Gerri’s mother is from Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan. We would like to share our sincere gratitude for Consul General of Japan Las Vegas, Kathleen Blakely, John & Mieko Dusich and Masako & Jerry Schmitt donated $100 each for the Las Vegas Okinawan Club at the New Year’s Party celebration.
2023年新年会は１４０人も参加者に来て頂き新年んお御祝いをすることが出来ました。！役員、役員、ボランティア、出演者、寄贈者の皆様、新年会に参加してくださった皆様、ご支援いただき、大きな問題もなくイベントを終えることができました。どうもありがとうございます。新年会の準備やお手伝いをしてくださった皆様、大変お世話になりました。在ラスベガス日本総領事館のキャスリーン・ブレイクリー氏による新年のご挨拶で始まりました。ジャッキー・ローゼン上院議員事務所のジュリア・コールマンも参加しました。ジュリアさんは日本人の母親のもとで東京で育ちました。下院議員スージー・リーの事務所からはジェリー・シュローダーさんもも私たちと一緒に新年を祝うために参加しました。ジェリーさんの母親は日本の山口県出身です。ラスベガス日本名誉総領事、キャサリーン・ブレイクリーさん、ジョン＆ミエコ・ドゥシッチさん、マサコ＆ジェリー・シュミットさんが新年会でラスベガス沖縄県人会のためにそれぞれ100ドルを寄付してくださったことに心から感謝いたします。

December 2022 End-of-Year Soba Luncheon
Thank you for your support and help!
Thank you to the GENE HAAS Foundation for sponsoring our club and the December event! Las Vegas Okinawan Club members, about 65 members participated at the “End-of-Year Luncheon” and enjoyed Okinawa Soba noodles with Okinawan rice Jyushii on December 4, 2022. We gained 14 new members! Please welcome them! Members enjoyed the food and the Ugly Sweater contest! The soba donation was from Rumiko Hirano and her brother, Jun Hirano from Los Angeles. Thank you Rumiko san and Jun san!

Our annual Spring Picnic that was held on May 13, Saturday at Craig Ranch Regional Park was successful! Thank you to all the volunteers and performers who made this event fun and safe place together and enjoy Spring picnic! We had total of 163 participants and gained 16 new members at the Picnic! Please welcome our new members! Participants enjoyed BBQ Food, Raffle Prizes (i.e., Cirque du Soleil tickets, cash prizes, restaurant gift certificates, etc), Asian & Pacific Islander cultural performance, FREE community resources to the community including food assistance, health navigators, SNAP, citizenship assistance and more! 5月13日土曜日にクレイグ・ランチ・リージョナル・パークで開催された毎年恒例の春のピクニックは成功しました。このイベントを皆で準備をしてくれ安全な場所にしてくれたボランティアとパフォーマーの皆さんに感謝致します。皆で春のピクニックを楽しむ事が出来ました。合計 163 名の参加者があり、ピクニックには 16 名の新しいメンバーが加わりました。新しいメンバーを是非、歓迎してください! 参加者は、バーベキュー料理、ラッフル賞品（シルク・ドゥ・ソレイユのチケット、賞金、レストランのギフト券など）、アジアおよび太平洋諸島の文化パフォーマンス、食料支援、健康ナビゲーター、SNAP、市民権支援などのコミュニティへの無料のコミュニティリソースを楽しみました。
